Decipher President Kristin Luck Wins Two International Awards

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business grants Luck the Gold in the Women Helping Women category and the Silver in the Female Executive of the Year category

Kristin LuckPortland, Oregon – November 12, 2012Kristin Luck of Decipher, a market research services firm, won two awards last Friday at the 9th annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business.

Luck was a Gold Stevie Award winner in the “Women Helping Women” category, recognizing her work as the founder of the Women in Research (WIRe) networking group for women in the market research industry.

She received a Silver Stevie Award for Female Executive of the Year in the business services category for her role as president of Decipher. The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world’s top honors for female entrepreneurs, executives, and the organizations they run. All individuals and organizations worldwide are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. The 2012 awards received more than 1,200 entries from 17 nations and territories.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the awards were presented to winners during a dinner at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.

“I’m very pleased that we were able to conclude our tenth year of organizing Stevie Awards programs with a very successful Women in Business event,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards. “This year’s Stevie Award-winning women are the most accomplished, impressive group we’ve ever had.

Their stories of success will be an inspiration to women around the globe who dream of starting and growing a business and making a difference in the world.”

Luck won the Gold Award for Women Helping Women because of her commitment to empowering other women in her field by founding WIRe (Women in Research) several years ago. This group helps women in their pursuit of leadership, entrepreneurship and career development goals.

WIRe began as a group of less than 20 women in Los Angeles and has grown to a group of more than 300 spanning the globe in cities such as Los Angeles, New York and London. A unique mentorship program was added this year, matching experienced women in the industry with those new to market research.

The Silver Award for Female Executive of the Year was awarded based on Luck’s commitment to innovation and leadership for her company. She has led Decipher to double digit year-over-year growth for five years in a row, guided expansion for the company and launched new technologies into the marketplace. The award was also granted due to her role in Decipher’s onshoring practices, which is an approach to keeping work within the U.S. by giving job opportunities to regional talent.
